You and Herr xxxxxx must always get the last word in.
You have both made your positions clear.
    So has Pieand.
I normally stay away from such drama, but a poster here who will remain unnamed unless he presses it, a so-called SS expert, sold Doug Buhler a fake SS visor.
And yes I still have the photos Mr. Bund Oberland.
    The hostility is sickening.

I really don't care at all if i have the last word on a fake Hat. But it is also sickening when some Crap turns into real and at one Point in time someone will bleed a lot Money to buy it. But please, feel free to enlighten me with your Expertise you can offer. Till now, beside Jacques no one offers anything. And i just posted what is the obviously Problem with this Hat. BTW, since i have no clue who you are....how you know what Expertise i have to offer?

I know mooth are smart...they eat a lot of my Money over the Years. But i have never seen mooth like this. Could someone please explain me how they manage to eat up the piping without eating one single Fiber of the black wool. Sure some magic Mooth at work there.....no idea how much more is needed to see what this funny Hat really is.
C'mon mate, you are way too experienced to believe that yourself. Any collector with only 10% of the experience and knowledge that you claim to have has seen heaps of examples where one part of an item gets eaten away whilst others remain untouched. Moths simply like some materials more than others. And you know that.

yeah, that is real funny. Mooth with a Menu what they eat and what not. Ok, that explains now all. I posted this because i have seen it exactly that way on many build Visors with a Band swap....and when you pull the Band off, you would know why i posted it. But yes, you right, they of course eat one material more then the other one, BUT take again a close look...one Thing mooth never do, they not float above and then dive down just on the white piping. Didn't meet a Mooth yet who was able to do that Stunt.

But one Thing is really interesting. Could you, or anyone else in this Thread please finally show there Expertise and post more then just Pictures of other Visors what have nothing to do with that OP Hat. Something more then just can't be, impossible and i like it. I didn't have more then this and what Jacques already posted. I wrote in the other Thread clear point by point what i not like, now i posted something what no one till now talked about, and what to me is impossible the way it is done. This here is to me a perfect Example why you just can't always only use Pictures, sometimes you need to have the Item in Hand. Posted this already several Times, and still not get it why this is not possible.

No Idea who you think you are/ As far as i know everyone here can post his Opinion, and no one tell me what Opinion i should have, so much for that. I try to show something what to me is not right, when that now make me a Troll, so it be. And now have a nice Day.

I know this to be absolutely true. Sometimes you find a tunic and only the insignias are eaten nothing else or visa versa just the tunic not the insignias. Many times just the green badge clothe. There are many many visors with just piping eaten.

I do not believe in 100% expertise, although there are people who handle more hats than others and study the details, I respect their knowledge but do not take it as the last word. Same with tunics. Personally I think this cap may be the real deal getting a bad rap. I remember my Hans Wiesenbock tunic that was torn to shreds by "experts" here on this forum and later sold for twice what I paid on one of the critics site.
Also my favorite summer weight officer tunic mocked and torn to pieces as humped up on this forum by "experts" later sold on a respected dealer/forum members site for four times what I paid.
I do notice one thing, there is an awful lot of competition to be seen as an "expert"
just collecting and discussing isn't enough, every single thing posted now gets doubt without explanation thrown at it. Some of you have only been involved in this for 20 years or less and have not seen everything.
If this hat surfaced in the mid 60's
I would have good cause to think it has a good chance of being a wartime hat. I remember the junk of that era, just my opinion. I definitely am not the go to guy for hats.

Well sorry but I strongly disagree.
Insect damage rarely eats through one fabric such as piping without effecting the other fabric that the piping is attached to.

I will just say to pay attention to a certain post that Roy quoted and responded to and which has since been edited. If you read the recent convo the way it appears now, Roy’s response makes less sense than it originally did before said post was edited.
