    Optics

Anyone have any interest in German optics...I have a few decent sets , hard to find in good / mint order...most tend to have signs of wear but have in good order are the equal of most made today.

    Please show them.

It's always nice to see good items !

      To start the ball rolling.

      Hi all,
here are my KM marked bino's.
These are one of my few collecting bargins over the years, not cased and they have seen some use, but they still have good, clear optics.

      Patrick.

          More markings.

          Here's the last.
Can anyone help with the markings (other than the maker code)?

          All the best,
          Patrick.

            leitz 7 x 50.

            Patrick,
The "N" on right side prism lid indicates "North Sea" use.
The "K.F." Kalte Fett" cold weather lubricant code.
The "T" indicates that the lens have been coated (Transparenzbelag).
I have two of this type , unfortunately the leatherette coverings on the leitz sets with age are prone to coming away from the body and end up dry and very fragile , one of my sets is now covering free...will get them re-covered in due course.

This set has drying cells located in front plates.

Some nice optics! I like them too. Here is a mint set of 6x30s. These were brought home by a veteran of the the 29th ID, who picked them up in a bunker during the Normandy campaign.
