Agree, and if not French, certainly foreign production.

Not french made and i remember also having seen in Germany a trousers like this one
      with german markings+maker and dated 1941 .
Typical buckles for the military or civilian puttees at that time .
French made stuff is quite different .

Thanks for weighing in on this Nick.

Patrick, I think it makes sense that these (some of them) were found in France as both the 1st and 2nd FJDs were sent to Avignon in May of '43 to serve (and issued tropical uniforms) as the reserve for the 10th Armee for the Italian theater. Both formed the 1st Fallschirm Korps.

Nick, can you show a photo of the marking, or describe it to us and tell who the maker was? Thanks, John

Thanks Gustav, will look at this tonight.

The slightly different design of the thigh pocket of the trousers on this thread does not reflect the precise standard of construction normally attributed to German production.

Wow, that discussion was almost 10 years ago. What a "blast from the past".....

I think Gustav made the answer ...i don't remember exactly the manufacturer of these pants but it was a german one for sure .
I was very surprised by the very early date ( 1941) because having these so called late war simplified buckles and fastening system was a mystery ?
