                  Yes, very nice original. I also have a 41 dated HBT version.

                    Interesting modification at the bottom. The buckles appear to be captured foreign? British? although war time those were usually copper in color...
                    perhaps modified Italian belt or from a rifle sling perhaps??

                      The buckles are just some kinda quick release buckles which belong to this type of HBT trousers.

                          They were build that way, those buckels are normally found at gaitors:

                          Some years ago a lot of those HBT trousers were found, story was they came out of france (and were build there, too).

                            you are right Definitely not the common pattern uberfal HoBen buckles...
                            (so like those used from leggings!)
                            researching these further here's another set with such bottoms. Learned something new!!
                            SO its just a (less common) variation!
