              I noticed that the thread is pinned now, good idea!

              Wouldn't it be good to broaden it to include also the fabric cap eagles? Very similar subject (and by accident I posted one some months ago here, sorry). Only a suggestion.

                  The paper backing is also unusual for a machine embroidered eagle, looks like that used on hand embroidered examples.
                  I looked thru this thread an the smock eagle thread, it looked similar to one on a tropical shirt. Any thoughts on what uniform it is for?

                    Nice eagles Harry, except the one in post 828, that one is not authentic IMHO.
