Ugly!? Where is your sense of Teutonic design Steve???!!! An odd but scarce eagle. Will show you some later that perhaps you will think are more handsome. Yep, been a good month. And many thanks for the tip! Will post some photos when it arrives.
        Regards,
        John

                Detail.

I sure hope Steve does not think this one ugly.

Nice eagles John. Except for that ugly one! I thought that one eagle looked afmiliar. I like the way the right wing tip turns up. Have you seen another?

Here is a very late subdued eagle. Rough wool backing and some features (swaz and claws) are thin and weak.

I suspect a lot of these "Ugly" birds were made in occupied countries. Perhaps it was a subtle type of revenge !
(BTW John - "Birds" is English slang for women. You can keep the ugly ones ! )

                    Regards,

                      Steve,

                      Regarding women, I totally agree.
As for Luft. birds, I'll take all I can get, ugly or otherwise.

Willi, when you visited I showed you an eagle like yours, with lots of material around it. :-)
                      Cheers,
                      John

PS Willi, as you well know, subdued eagles are rare

Trop.eagle on heavy fabric ,unfortunately re-applied,in this case I don't care too much,it's a rare bird and the jacket displays nicely this way IMO.

                          Jos.

The straps are a pair,John, one is laying upside down.
The thread which is used for the triangular eagle is kinda khaki, but the flash makes it a rather light color..,on the other hand I'm not too worried about lighter or darker shades...,here's a era shot of very dark colored thread used...

                              Jos.

                                Nice eagle and straps Jos.

I thought I would pull out some unissued subdued eagles to compare against a standard white one.
