    Interesting stuff..!

Although I've my doubts about the flightcap covers..
I've seen too many of these, while they're very rare IMO.
IMO I think I've never seen a real one as long as I collect, this is only my own opinion ofcourse..
I've studied era pics though and my conclusion is that the ones used in war are showing features these and similar others I've seen don't have..
    Hence my doubts..

I second what Jos says! Very interesting items, but I too am sceptical of the rescue covers for the flight caps. Especially the tan-to-red type. Sometime in the early 90's time frame I was offered several of these by dealers & collectors, and saw several more appear in M**ion's auction. And I don't believe it was a "warehouse find." 21 years collecting and I've seen only one cover I believe to be 100% original.

I believe the goggles you are showing are made by O.W. Wagener, MODEL 306 Flying goggels with the 2 adjusting screws on the bridge piece, and appear in very nice condition..they are usually found in a cardboard carton check the name plate on the cover of your aluminum case and i believe it will be for the AUER MODEL 295....DAVE H

                            Yes,this pair is a so-called Summer pair..,it's a original pair.

Model 306 also called model 652..,have to find out why 2 different modelnames.
                            I don't think it's a O.W. Wagener which are marked O.W.
This one seems to have the initials E.D or F.D. and 652.
Does anyone know what E.D. or F.D. stands for ?
It's not on my list, but obvious a original maker.

Like sadolch I also think the alu container belongs to a different type, nevertheless a nice pair.
Alu containers came for Auer but also for Wagener
Mixed up stuff like this is often found.
I think the spare lenses are the right type, you can easily check by comparing.

                            Jos.

Hello and thank you Jos and Dave!

Yes the case is for Auer 295. I also have similar with Wagener plate, which I got with similar looking but smaller motorcycle goggles. Sadly it´s missing center compartment for spare glasses.

                                Best regards,
                                Ville
