I must admit I have never ever seen another on a field grey backing but perhaps others can confirm if this is what it is ???

I am certain that it is not a police general because another NZ veteran brought back one his tunics and I got his name. It was many years ago and I can not remember off the top of my head but I will go and look it out.

In the mean time, here is a couple more images comparing with a police shoulder board and a coastal artillery officer's shoulder board. The coastal artillery officers shoulder board was also brought back from Italy in 1945.

Notice how the Admiral/ General board is made in the KM style with a grommet for a screw button. Also notice the difference in shade against the "police green".

The KM boards are the later "field-grey green" as opposed to the early darker "bottle-green",

                    KM Tunic M-40?

I'm pretty much a lurker over here but love KM stuff. I have a KM artillery tunic that I bought in Munich in 1986 for 60 DM (about $20.00 then). It has not seen the light for about 28 years now. It was POW worn the seller said and has many repairs. It is very salty. Is this an Army tunic or KM variety? M-40?

The shoulder boards were bought in the 1990s and they looked cobbled together to me but it may have just been field work.

Some really great items shown in this thread. I am glad to be able to learn and to prepare for acquisition of at least one uniform and set of other items.

I only have these two minty KA badges. Hope you like them ;-)
