    I do not care about keeping it in my collection, just want to find some regular proof and true about this helmets, that is all...

      Not true , and DDR was over 20 year ago most people don't know what a DDR is or was ! . I think 99% of people here accept they were not used by the German armed forces of WW2 , every conceivable version of German helmet from 1800 to 1945 has been bought home by the GI's by the boatload and British / Commonwealth troops by the suitcase load but never one of these ( post war painted refurbs) DAK helmets .         How many helmets like this have been recovered from battlefields, how many have been found that are battle damaged, have names or Feldpostnummer in them? How many that are yellow inside are were later painted white or otherwise camouflaged? I have never seen any of the above that were not obvious fakes.

        I think the above statement from JL is the proof you are searching for. You will not find a document or the like. The study of the plentiful supply of surviving original third reich helmets clearly suggests beyond reasonable doubt that these helmets in this configuration where not used by German 3R forces.           For sure no DAK or true wartime german. They never painted the helmets tan with liner taken out. Maybe some late war contract en refurbished, but again than it's not true german WWII just like for example the turkisch mausers from '44.

          This is my late-war LW m42 with decal under the paint. Under the liner it's still LW blue. And look at the different shade of tan/einheitsfarben.

                    If these helmets had any chance, we would and should find them in collections of many helmet collectors..
                    The fact that these were sold as parts to gain some more money, shell, liner, rivets also tells the tale ..
                    There's no maybe, they're just post war painted helmets and not too many people care about these.

                      They were sold in parts because they were too many on the market at one time !
                      And the story of the Egyptian contract made them totally unsalable ...
                      I already had one with a white paint over the sand colour and you could see a
                      russian volunteer badge locally painted under the paint ...which was sand colour , arsenal made , not local !Found in Prag during the wall period,before the big stock came out ...
                      I found another one by a czech resistance veteran who worn it in 45 ( ! ) and after in the National Guard ,dressed with a WSS tropical uniforms set .
                      I always supposed the helmet and the tropical uniforms came from the same place , WSS logistical center in Central Europe .
                      If somebody compares an italian surplus M33 helmet in the classical italian kaki colour with these german helmets , it's becoming ridiculous IMO ?
                      The story with these helmets has always been something interesting , for years ! Until we had "new" serious collectors coming out of those countries,bringing some "fresh air"on the subject .
                      Remember me where the US troops stopped in 45 ? were they somewhere in Eastern Europe so far ? only some dozens of kilometers in the CS republic ( Pilsen ) and then went back to the Yalta decided borders .
                      So how was it possible for them to get one of those as a souvenir from these german logistical centers where they were stocked ? And restocked almost immediately by the CS Army ...

                        Manions sold these in the 80's out of their direct sales catalog. I believe they were advertized as post war Czech or Egyptian surplus back then.

                          Wow, it sounds like you have a great collection of these helmets that were clearly used in WWII. CAn you please post close up photos of them here so that we can also see them, or post a link to a website where photos of them can be seen?
                          The US troops stopped their advance in CZ, where they met lagre numbers of retreating Germans. Germans who were retreating from areas where this great logistics center was. However, none of these Germans seem to have been wearing these yellow helmets...
                          Also, do you realise that military units move a lot, and that anything issued somewhere, quickly ends up being found everywhere?

                          Anyways, no evidence or good argumentation to make anyone think these were used in WWII so far.

                            I don't have a great collection of those helmets as you ironically says ?
                            And i didn't pretend anything regarding these helmets as i don't want to sell any ?
                            I only kept 3 pieces of them , various types found in the stock and a used one from this veteran ...
                            The white one i had has been sold years ago,bear in mind this story is already
                            25 years old !
                            I just gave 2 examples of "issued" ones to try to give logical explanations to the fact 99% of them came out brand new .
                            The retreating german troops in CS met by the US forces were all equipped in european outfits, coming from the "Ostfront",not from the "Südfront"!
                            Look at the existing pictures of them ?
                            You can find some issued-worn ones in the center of Europe from time to time but the question is still : when was it worn and who used them ?
                            I don't think many millions like this were refurbished-stocked and my theory is they were part of the big WSS Südfront clothing depot the CS Army found in 45
                            in the north of Prag where only russians and czechs had access !
                            Everybody knows that WSS tropical clothing was not worn a lot actually and most of these uniforms were reissued to post war units or worn by civilians after the war ?
                            Discussion is part of knowledge and that's why i tried to add some old knowledges i actually have for 40 years of collecting to this debat because this story is IMO not that simple as too many people said .
                            Not so many people still active were at that time in the center of Europe and
                            had the chance to see and find many many interesting pieces of history ...

                              I am not a helmet collector and i do not have one of this helmets, but i know some in collections, in mint condition! The liner was never removed and the rivevets never opend! I know that they came from CZ, but in my opinion they are late war Wehrmacht! Why? Just because i never saw any CZ equipment in this color, this is late war "Einheitsfarbe", a lot of last ditch german equipment is painted with that color, like messkits, ammo crates aso!
                              So, if everyone have one this helmets for a "Egyptian" oder "Czechoslowakian civil defence" price, please let me know!

                                Definitely not out of North Africa. However, camo wise, there are a few more variants to the 2 classic colours denoted on an earlier post. Those are the 2 most commonly found , but there is actually a similar green-tan attributed to Tunisia that I suppose could have been confused with these. Other variants include sand camos and mid war ordnance tans used by some LW forces in Tunisia.

                                Let's go easy on the guy, we all make mistakes, being defensive is normal, but public lynching adds no value except have less people post.
