The Luftschutz skirt decals all show different lettering and different fonts and the fonts used are consistant with what I would expect for a WWII German item. They also show honest wear from age and use. The same cannot be said for these factory property decals. The decal adds value and saleability to a common item. I can agree to disagree but nothing I have seen here has changed my personal opinion that none of these nearly identical-looking decals that have only appeared in recent years with what look like a common modern font and fake aging are real.

Come on now Chris ..are you serious ? You really think all those Fonts and lettering are different ? ..no similarity at all.
Did you really compare them ?

Whatever the case ..there is no way that anyone can contest the fact that these Factory Helmets were issued and used during the War ...remember that photo of the Factory Ready Room I posted ? Here's a close up of the Decal on the right side ...in a way it almost looks like the Zundapp Logo .
Well ...the picture is real ...so , anyone completely dismissing these as all being fake is mistaken.

better close up so we don't mistake it for being a reflection from the "Flash"

Sure, the fonts are different. Compare the paragraph symbol, for instance. They are similar but not exactly the same. Notice how these helmets with decals inside are always from well-known companies from WWII, mostly vehicle and weapons manufacturers? And never any of the hundreds of just as big but perhaps lesser-known and less glamorous factories that produced everything from tin cans to uniform fabric? There is no doubt that factory guard helmets existed but the now common type with the very similar-looking inside decals with a modern-looking font and contrived wear that suddenly appeared in large numbers a few years ago are not real in my opinion.

The helmets in the period picture are early fire brigade helmets(large swastika and tilted National decal). Civic factory security guard helmets did exist but the majority seen today are post-war decal enhancements to a common WWII German civic helmet.

I did consider that but , the shape of the black area on that M34 decal seemed odd . Chris , Perry …You keep admitting the Factory Helmets existed but …I still have not heard the criteria you use to determine the real from fake . Is the Skirt decal the “red flag” tip off for you both ? Do you feel Factory Logos on the front are correct ?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>
It would be great if we could make this an informative thread rather than just saying “Most are Fake” and walking away.
Littlejohn's "Defending the Reich" touches on the subject and has a few examples ..unfort , no inside shots.
