    Rob and Tony,

thank you for your words, always nice to hear positive feedbacks

Has anybody a theorie why they removed the red part of the tri-color ? It is almost looking like it was done before placement if it were not for the red remains. There is absolutly no discoloring in the area were the red should be, same worn color like on the rest of the helmet.

P.S. Maybe i have the chance to get many papers and docs from the soldier how weared that helmet. Maybe i can add a name soon.

    Thanks again, Jens

I too think that is good.
I think there is another NSKK helmet with the exact same reissued color. It will be interesting to see what the other guys think. There are a few people with a good NSKK helmet..

It is strange to have an early liner in the M40 shell..

          Thanks Ty and Sander,

Ty, do you know who owns the other NSKK helmet with the same color ? I would be very interested in seeing it.

Can it be that the helmet was reissued at a factory ? Maybe they replaced the liner there ? But i guess they wouldnt sprayed the color on a helmet in this way.

Sander, i see absolutly no evidence of a WH decal under the eagle.

          Many thanks to all, Jens

I like that one, very hard to find helmet in a "one looker" state

No problem with a reinforced Allu. liner in a M40, just indicative of a early M40. Likely dated between '39-'41.
Some feel the removal of the scroll is meant for Speer organization.
I have no idea why the red is removed from the National shield but it definately looks like it was purposely done for some reason.
That's a killer helmet, you landed a nice one.

I believe I saw a NSKK helmet in Johnson's "War Booty" book.

Thanks to all responded Its much appricated.

Sander, i looked very close again but couldnt see any evidence of another decal.

Arjan, after closer looking at the base color, it could be very well Luftwaffen blue.

Perry, yes could be a early M 40 but the liner is to tight, i cannot make out a date. I looked at the decal and indeed it looks like the scroll was removed in another way and to another time, Swastika screchting looks lighter and newer while the scroll scretching is darker and a little bit rusted.
Could be a sign for the "Speer" theorie.

Also thanks to nopoop and fknorr, BTW have you got a pic of the NSKK helmet in the book ?

                      Many thanks, Jens

I agree on Perry that it is probably a Speer helmet, because the scroll is carefully scrapped off, while the swas is scrapped of in a way that a lot of german helmets have when they were denazilised.

if the scroll was de-nazi-ed if would be this carefully done.

Anyway mine looks a bit darker (the green color i mean)

it is a m35 DD, which was a DD Luft before is was repainted green and added a new set of decals

Arjan, what a fantastic helmet Wow.

Can we see more of it ? Other side and maybe a closer pic of the decal. Would love to see there areas which are missing on mine. Were did you got it ?

BTW, what was Speer organisation exactly ?? OT ??

                          Many thanks Jens

Just for clarification, that shell is perfectly ok with a early liner as long as the dates make sense.

Please don't stress too much to find the date though. It looks ok...
