This publication a newspaper during the RSI period (= post September 1943) from my collection.
RSI troops depicted now in camoflage (including camo covered helmets) as fashionable during this period...

In photo an RSI officer of Marine corps with the tabs and stars, in the
early period of RSI the gladios at many departments was lacking
in fact it is not uncommon to find in RSI photos the presence of soldiers with tabs and stars.
It was an extensive use that several circulars were issued by the commands pertaining to
invoke the use of gladios and banned the use of stars.
It is a striking example of the order sheet No. 26 1 June 44' on banning the use of stars
calling the uniform regulation of 10 April 44'."six italians, dressed in rather unusual diving suits and equipped with materials of laughably little cost have swung the military balance of power in the Mediterranean in favour of the Axis".Comment

This is not a RSI-photo. These are men of one of the "M" Battalions, this photo was probalby taken during 1942. Note that Mussolini is wearing his MVSN-uniform(never worn during the RSI-era).Originally posted by NickG View Post
