Both very good helmets ! The first shown has first serie vent holes.
The CCRR one, bears the 2nd type M.38 silver colour stencil on 'black metallic'
paint. You can find this type of black only on CCRR steel helmets of this period.

The badge is the one of the GNR Portuaria(Harbour GNR), previously MVSN Portuaria with a crown or a five pointed star on top.I've never seen such a stencilled badge on a M.33. However the badge looks a bit renfreshed. Hard to say if it is good or not.It is good looking however.Only my opinion. PaoloM

                      Hi Paolo,
Thank you for your input. This M33 looks very good "in the flesh".
Here is a close-up of the insignia. It could help.

As promised on the other closed thread, here's my sand painted M.33:the
sand paint was the same as used on trucks or tanks, with no mixture of
local sand. The paint covers an Engrs badge, no more visible.

Some troubles in the broken liner, but I've not touched that. The owner
fought in Tunisia and carried back his own helmet. Bye, PaoloM

                          Some other pieces:

This piece, comes from Rome. The owner, probably dead, fought against the
German paratroops after the Italian Armistice, in what it has been called 'The
Battle for Rome 1943'.This piece has been found in a Rome's garret in the
'50s and sold for few bucks some years ago in a flea market in my area.

This one, again coming from Rome where this regiment of the Sassari Division
fought against the Germans in the same battle.I replaced the chin- strap
because it was not present. The steel harness of the liner was also badly
damaged.I generally never touch the damaged pieces, but this was one of
my first helmets, so...onny soit qui mal y panse...!
                          Bye PaoloM

Sorry I had forgot. Here's my cousin's Rudy sand painted M.33.It has the
same colour of mine, but the differences between them depend only on the
type of print of the roll:mine is Agfa, while the other is Kodak.

On front, the overpaint covers a stencil badge, not clearly visible, but
                            I suppose Arty. Ciao, PaoloM
