Liner, size 58 (size not visible here due to the chinstrap bale) ; the chinstrap was unfortunately cut :

                Bye,PaoloM

About this i have some little doubt on the badge and rivets.
Is it cut away or born like aereofonist helmet?

                      Thanks for the kind comments.

Do you mind if I ask you two questions ?
What do this "MRM" marking stands for ? (I already noticed it on helmets here, but as it's surely obvious for you, I didn't see any clue about it.)
Do you know if a specific Regia Marina unit was in Nizza at that time ?

                      Grazie mille !

PS : I managed to find an original unissued chinstrap some time later, to replace the one that was cut, but never decided myself to do the job for 25 years ! Not really convinced it would be wise to, so it sat in the liner for all those years.

Hello Chris, that was one of the few markings you can find on the
M.33s issued to the Navy. I don't know exactly what units of the R. Marina were deployed in the Nice area, however I can advice you a good search by web and I'm sure you'll find something.
Well, IMO don't replace the chin-strap.Keep that with the helmet, that is
                        completely original in that way!CheersPaoloM

                          Sperimentale tipo balma 33 camo

Is a beautiful sunny day today in California and yet no sun light reflection on this helmet
The Italian were good on this experimental camo helmet.
This is a SPERIMENTALE TIPO BALMA helmet with a new camouflage paint to avoid the sun reflection.
