id have liked those collar corners longer, as most shirts of the day were. this collar shape seems modern. just a feeling.

          Hello,

Nice, original shirt. Buttons have been replaced though. I have one with the same material - same weave. Original buttons on mine.

          Best,

          Christopher

                    GREEN SHIRT - opinion please

                    Gentlemen,

Here is a tropical shirt from my collection which I believe to be an original. It came from a vet's family in Germany. DAK boards acquired separately.

I believe that 19BARBAROSSA41's shirt is original, albeit with replaced, modern buttons attached. It was a common practice in the post war years to wear wartime stock converted for civilian use.

For those who believe the shirt is a Czech jobbie, then we can respectfully agree to disagree.

                    Christopher

Could be Czech made for the Wehrmacht, but genuine WWII IMO.

We discussed one of my Luft tropical shirts in another thread (give me a little time to find the link) and it has the same weave pattern. Was made by Erco in Prague.

I have another shirt in blue-grey with exactly this weave pattern, and it also has short collar tips.

Edit: Found the thread fast. Here comes the link.

                        Oh, by the way:

Christopher, do Your DAK shirt has the pockets for the collar tabs on the inside of the collar? My blue-grey shirt which looks very similar to Your tan one has these pockets.

                          GREEN SHIRT - opinion please

                          Hi Ramjet,

Here's a picture of mine - under the collar.

I believe the "41" stamp (posts 1 & 7 below) indicates the year of manufacture.

                            Thanks, Christopher.

I am away from my collection but will make pics of my blue-grey shirt next week for comparison.
