Pants
Bill you mean to tell us that you have a life outside the forum? Actually I'm leaving in a few minutes to take my teenager somewhere too.
This same seller has a pair of electric winter pants available as well and they also look pretty minty. I'll post pictures later in the weekend unless one of you beats me to it.

Here's the dilemma. All of your examples with brass zips, Bill, are from late war clothing. The channel pants under review appear to represent an early war set to me. Has anyone owned or handled a pair of late war summer weight continental channel pants with anything other than plastic zippers?
Add the bad tag in on what is essentially a mint set, with mint lanyards (why are the metal parts painted black, anyway?), and I'm thinking it ain't right.

He also sells "suspenders for channel trousers", which are definitely NOT suspenders for channel trousers:

And a shirt, which IMO is no German shirt at all:

Wrong construction for a Luftwaffe shirt, even for a privately tailored one.

OK, that seals it. This cord is not there in WWII Luft cloth wired pants, although it's present in the leather versions, so these are likely post-war eastern european pants modified to be passed off as WWII Luft.Attached FilesLast edited by juvatwad; 02-21-2009, 04:04 PM.

Pants, suspenders, shirt, et all
Thanks for posting those Steve. I could not get on the server yesterday. Based on just the little bit you guys have taught me the last few months, and the comments so far, I am not liking any of these items from this seller. The suspenders are the most obvious problem item to me, but I have concerns about the other pieces as well.
If I'm wrong to feel this way, than we need some positive comments about these items I wouuld say.

Stunning pair of electrical trousers Ramjet. As Bill said, quite spot on, collecting these channel trousers used to be a safe harbor in the storm, Im amazed how things have changed. I have six or seven pair, and think I'll call it a day on the pants! Still want one or two more jackets, however, they are getting tougher to find in the right condition. One bright note, I"ve still yet to see a credible repro pair of the electriacally heated trousers like Ramjet, but I'm sure they are working on them!

Scott, they do not belong to me and I do not want to get them. Both the electrically heated and the blue summer pants are at ebay and I thought there is something wrong with them, so I posted the pics here. Reading all the comments, it seems that they are repros, albeit very good ones. If You thought that the electrically heated one is a good one, the repro must REALLY be good ... or we are wrong.
Anyway, pease look again and check the pics and the comments carefully, we need every opinion.
Have a nice evening, Steve
