    Well the stamp in post 8 has me baffled

      I agree. I dont think the lining is typical for German WW2, it appears to be synthetic. Zipps not typical also. Otherwise they appear to be modeled after the German type. Im not sure but I dont believe these types of flight pants were used or manufactured after 1943 when the leather elect jackets and pants came into use, thats a guess however. Best, Bill Bourque

        The flourishing of the Waldes a spol. company was disrupted by the German occupation in 1939, at that time the factory was renamed after its main product, KOH-I-NOOR.

          Thanks for the feedback guys. It is good to know I didn't miss out on a authentic pair. The zipper and snaps were the two things that had me the most concerned. The little education I have on these is only recently acquired from reading the limited number of past threads about them on the forum, so my knowledge is really lacking. But even as a novice, I just didn't get a good feeling about these.

              The flag pocket also has me a bit puzzled, but I know some Warsaw Pact countries copied directly LW flight gear for use in the late 40's and early '50's and I have seen some of it in antique shops in Prague. This may be just a case of someone being told "copy these" without any thought for what went where.
              The Soviets copied a B-29, rivet for rivet, after the war, but it never went into full scale production, supposedly because they "developed a better aircraft" but, in reality, because almost none of their avionic systems, powerplants or other equipment was compatable with it.

                By the way, here are some of the things I noticed that had me concerned. Was I correct or not with each of my observations?

                1) Kohinoor snaps looked too new
                2) "For Gentilmen" snaps, are these WWII German manufacture?
                3) The stamp in post #8 looked strange (Someone else mentioned this already)
                4) The interior lining looks weird (Someone else already mentioned the synthetic look)
                5) The leather on the pocket corner and the belt fob look too new
                6) Zipper is different than all the examples I've seen posted (Bill mentioned this already)

                  Good points John. Im at work and have few moments to look. It also appears to me that the front pockets and gun pouch are undersized, the pockets dont seem as wide as WW2 issue the pouch too short. The lining is a weird greenish hazy color and must have been dyed. A pic of the 2 waist buttons would be helpful as they are usually the glassene types. Best, Bill

                    1. Many era flightstuff is showing snaps, leather, looking "too new"..
                    2. Might be WW2, but they're not the original buttons.
                    3. Stamp is Czech, pants are Czech.
                    4. There's a blue version, RB marked, with synthetic brown lining.

                    6. Czech pants might have Czech zippers ..

                    I've seen and inspected Czech made flightboots with Wico zipps and Koh-I-Noor snaps, which had originaly attached german labels and German soles.., a odd combination, but they were real..

                        Jos is right on in that some original WW2 items look "too new". Usually Kanalhose is a no-brainer -- this may be the most convincing post-war type example I have ever seen. At least it isn't a reproduction -- just an original item purported to be something else.

                          When someone calls me by phone regarding my advertisement for LW garment first what i do is asking if the zippers and snaps have kohinoor mark,as my airforce/they say/ literally copied a lot of items from germans.You can see a lot of these pants and various flight jackets with these parts here in CZ.There are a lot of high pilot boots exactly made as LW ones but with Wico or Kohinoor zippers here.If they are postwar made or have the zippers and press studs just replaced I do not know.Maybe they were just finished with the use of these parts after the war-my guess.Here you can find a pilot brillen nearly the same as LW one frequently mistaken for LW ones.Main difference is that metal parts are without any paint,different elastic band and inner side of rubber has small logo Mima.
