I was thinking EXACTLY the same thing, the materials, quality of detail inthe bullion work...and that fancy "yellow" ....make this a no, no flag in originality. I saw in person one of the original AH "operar house" standartes....the materials and bullion work and detail where simply MAGNIFICENT!! something the flag posted here lacks in EVERY angle in my very personal opinion of course. Of course I am talking about the last flag posted(bullion type)..not the one posted by BOB.

Do yourself a favor, and search this forum for Mr.Bill Shea account on how he was able to find and add a ORIGINAL AH standarte to his collection, look at the photos of the flag and it's details..there are a BILLION MILES away from the poor example shown in the museum...which probably is a filler piece to showcase the rest of the original artifacts in display. NEVER EVER be 100% percent sure that EVERYTHING you see at a museum is the real deal...now....I go back to my basement now.

ps/look for the Deutschland Erwache book...there you can see the LAH standarte in good color pictures...and its details and bullion work.

So since you've proved one museum fake, you must be correct on them all. I love those who preach to not believe in everything you hear or see, unless you are the one showing or saying it. The Mona Lisa has been fakes as well, and it had fooled "experts". Keep that in mind also.

IMO here is an original bullion AH standarte
example. As few survived WW2 it sold years
ago now for ~$18K USD via online auction.

I really don't understand your point of view on this, but is fine with me my friend...everyone is entitled to have a personal opinion and views on all the things in life, I just made two points that merits atention on the museum flag you posted, one...is not even close to the real thing in SOOOOO many things that you don't need to look twice and because it is displayed at a museum this will not make it the real/original piece..even if is displayed among other perfectly original artifacts, two...I did not say eveything shown in museums are fakes.....but by the same token....not every single piece is real....there are so many reasons for this, lack of research and knowledge on the era and artifact been studied, blind trust in the person (s) making the artifacts donation to museum (s)....or as previous stated....just "filler" pieces to help a particular theme display/exibition.

But when clear and detailed facts are available, dedicated research done  and carefuly revised.....then making the study known to other interested enthusiasts and researchers, a clear and direct verdict of what can be proven without doubt is original period done or not can be done...like the case of the museum flag you posted.

Look at the examples Oldflagswanted kindly uploaded in this thread showing the fakes been made today and the details of originals know examples....you will see the differences in a nanosecond.
