Well, there are several things that make me think it's a fake:

#1: it is being sold saying it has WaA and marked 'cnx' ,so pretending it is WWII original.

#2: The press botton, that lets the main rod go up and down, is in the wrong side.

#3: The notch amid the main rod has a rounded shape!! Never seen in a WWII dreibein (as far as I know, could always be mistaken)

# 4: the lower cover has been dismounted, perhaps to rework the rod, so it would look and mesure like a WWII tripod??

See this thread with several original AA tripods and compare. I just hope you are not bidding

Anyhow, Holger Frankenberger is a well known faker. I can say so because I have bought several things to him. He usually stamps his items with a fake WaA ink stamp.

Fake aa stand?

Hi Carles,are you saying both the tripod and the gun cradle are fake? I've just looke at my Dreibin and the button is on the left and the edges of the groove are indeed square and not rounded. I know of Holgers reputation you just have to be careful with what you are buying! Plenty of metal and rubber stamps are availanle for the fakers,in the past I've bought stamps from him.Regards David.

100% fake and sadly enough this about the 5th one he has sold over the last year and half. There have been a few others from another guy as well. The sad thing is that some poor guy spent 1130. euro for it.

This one is 1000% fake. They haven't even taken the trouble of transforming it!!.They've only painted tan and rusted a bit... Let's see what happens with it.

That dunkelgelb one has a far less convincing colour scheme, you can tell it has been artificially aged at a glace, whereas the one in the original post looks like it is 65+ years old.

Yea they overdid it with the cnx stamps, not one but 3 maybe there is a cnx stamp on every lever, that would be 5!!

It is incredible, the previous fake dreibein reached 804 eu BUT even more incredible is the next fake one 1860eu right now!!! The most I ever got for a complete (with the top fork) original one was about 1200eu!!

I, and I suspect others, are really in the dark here. How does someone go about faking something like this? Are these tripods actually for a different gun? I find it hard to believe these are made new from scratch.
