It took me about 15 months to save $300 worth of grass-cutting money to get my K98. I'll be saving for years to pony up the $2000-2500 it takes to get a G43.

Mauser Kar98K....Just a word of encouragement, you'd be amazed how much your financial situation can change in five years. Five years from now you may well be able to afford everything on your list. Secondly there is the option of a semiauto MG42, they are being built (although the MG42.US forum has been down all week )...they are much more affordable than a full auto obviously.
Secondly, I have bought two G43's in the past two years, paid 750$ for one, and 500$ for the other....keep the faith, they are out there.

Five years ago I couldn't afford what I can routinely purchase now...

          Chris....

Thanks Chris. I'll keep this in mind. It might also help that I'm going to college to eventually become a museum curator. It would be kind of cool to work at the D-Day Museum and be surrounded by these goodies all day.

                Dreams....

Hard to believe isn't it...G-43's at that price, each one came with three magazines as well....go figure.
#1) 2 years ago at a gunshow. The guy had just pulled it out of the case and put it up on the table. I have found that being the first into a show is key! Saw him laying it out on the table, and after some dickering got him down to 750$ K43 DUV44, a rare code....check Weaver's book....
#2) Co worker knows I collect German weapons. He told me that his friend had a German K98 that he no longer wanted. Took about a month before he brought it in. Went out to his truck to see it, and bam.... G43 AC44. 500$ (Some cash, and the approx value of some 7.62x39 ammo I had lying around)
Best part, one of the magazines is an ACW. Below is a picture of the K43 Duv44-the stock has been sanded, and that's a K98 Buttplate on her, but it was right for the price.... Chris....

I wish I had that kind of luck. Do my eyes decieve me or is that a Ruskie SKS? Hopefully my SKS will look like that.

                    Dreams...

You're going to hate me by the time this is through Josh....Yup that is a Russian SKS, bought it at the same gun show as the K43 for 175$, see that FN49....100$ less than a year ago! One of my best deals yet.... Chris....

I have owned the Norinco SKS's, Yugo, and the Russians....I like the Russians the best....lots of fun and character to them with the markings...good shooters too!

I couldve bough a partially bubbaed Ruskie for that price(it had the bayonet removed and the attachement ground off). I am on an adventure to find some kind of SKS. Wouldnt mind having yours. Is it a tula or a Ishevsk?

Just a Luger P08 for me.....If I ever find one that I can afford, my rebuilt TR collection will be virtually complete. I've been striving to collect the items that for me, were iconic to the Third Reich, as a kid.....
A long NSDAP Banner, Helmet, Grenade, Iron Cross, and Luger....These were the things that epitomized the Third Reich in films and on TV when I was young, and now I have all but the Luger.
I just can't seem to find even a decent example in a decent condition at a price that I can afford. I'll keep searching until I find one that completes the journey for me...

                        Cheers,
                        Bob.
I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous.....

A live Luger and being allowed to fire it would be a dream come true.....
Not to be however.......As someone over here recently found out.
He had a large collection deactivated grenades. I don't know why but he was raided by the police and they found a live shot gun, a WWI Luger and another pistol.......Straight to jail for five years.....

                            Steve.

My two favorite guns are the P.08 and MP40, I have the Luger but would really love to get the MP40, even if it is deactivated
