Wags spread the word as we need to boost the attendance to give the hobby a shot in the arm for the good of all. New collectors need to see what we older long time collectors know and how much more there is to learn.

Sounds like the best seminar to date jammed packed with rare info that the collectors are always looking for but seldom find.

How many times we found rare variations just sitting out in the open, only because few knew what they really were.
A big part of the draw to this hobby is the historical aspect to these artifacts.
If your a collector of say SA type dagger and want to know what is a Marine SA dagger? How about NSKK, did they made a Marine dagger other that the chained version ? Were marine SA daggers always 'gold/copper' plated ? What's with the black painted grip, and the stained black gripped SA daggers ?

The knowledge presented here, collectors won't find anywhere else. Presented by esteemed hobby veterans with over 100 years experience among them.

I will surely spread the word, as IMO, this is a must attend class.

I don't know about you other guys, as I can only speak for myself, and I'm still learning. You can't imagine how much of this info if just held in a very small circle of collectors. But now, it is being released to the collecting public. We will also probably get a chance to get a update on the pending, long awaited, Tom Wittmann's tome on the SA/NSKK dagger.

Gents, maybe someone can video record seminar, for member of community? Live discussion very important, but not all can visit it. If we can good pictures and clear voice it, we must pay for good info, like good refference book. Seminars is more quick, and live than reference books.
For collectors very important different sources - reference books, seminars, pictures and archive docs.

Regardless of how you feel about his business, he certainly is one of the world's leading authorities on Third Reich edged weapons and has been working on the SA Dagger for many years for his upcoming reference book on the subject.
His reference books on Army Daggers, Navy Daggers, Air Force Daggers and SS Daggers are mainstays of the reference books available on the subject.
More edged weapons pass through his hands than most of the other dealers and he as been supplied many unique pieces for use in the upcoming publication.
NOT to avail yourself to his information and expertise would be a loss in my opinion.

European collectors seem to be less interested in the MAX show, year after year... except for a few very loyal participants...

Together with some of the organizers, the show has lost a lot of its glamour, prestige and credibility ... One can only loose his good reputation once...

Dear Victorman,
From my conversations with european collectors and dealers of late (those that speak frankly) about attendance to the MAX, is due to economic conditions in their own perspective spheres.
1. The Euro
2. The economy
3. Dismal dealer sales.

The European collector/dealer that has not attended the MAX, for the most part, was not seen by me at the SOS.
Those that follow the hobby already know that MAX ownership has changed a year ago. The new owners of the MAX are the owners of the SOS.

Out of colleague respect, I would kindly suggest that we refrain from further insinuations of anyones perceived 'reputations', and concentrate on what one can learn from this exciting seminar of many less known details of the SA/NSKK SS and NPEA dagger models.
Not dismissing past authors valuable contributions in this field, the presenters Tom Wittmann and Ron Weinand need no introduction as they wrote the only true (IMHO) reference books on their respective subjects.
Ross Kelbaugh, the leader of SS research, broke the numbering code on SS NCO records, a fantastic piece of hobby advancement in it's own right.

Perhaps Ron knows if a video copy will be made of this seminar. Most are not.
