I've sent emails recently to this point-but none of the moderators or admins have replied. I urge others to do the same-send emails to the admins/etc. asking for a new/additional moderator for this portion of the forum.

I only comment on daggers that appear to me to have some problems.not on items that are obviously bad.Concerning this dagger has anyone ever seen skulls like this with the dkmples above the top row of teeth. It is on all the skulls .It is the people who insult all people that do not have the same adoration of Ss items as themselves tnat ruin forums I.e GDC RIP

              This is nonsensical and idiotic.

Let me make this as clear as Himmlers glasses.I was the first too ask how it was know who owned it and how that was known. The answer was a picture of him wearing it, which was sold.Only an idiot would sell the (proof) without the dagger. This kind of information may help those who would pay a premium for a story. Now I would like to see another chained SS with skulls with dents above the teeth on all of the skulls.Perhaps a picture in one of the many SS dagger book which I have.I do not want to wait a week.

Let me get this straight...are you saying the dagger is bad because of the dents on the skulls?

Sounds like you are bucking for a banning of anyone with an opinion different from your own - Hope you never become a mod !
A mods job is to ensure forum rules are followed, not to regulate debate or stamp out opinions, educated or not.
Seems to me valid points were raised in lieu of better pics ,,, And I also find it nearly impossible to believe that the paper "proof" of ownership of this dagger was haphazardly sold separately, even back in the 1960's just about anyone would have known better than to do that.

                          DR ...

Could you be so kind and show which flaws you are talking about?

Something I learned from my early days as a gun collector - it’s SOP for some of those who also specialize in U.S. items to look for matching wear/damage marks on guns which have no serial numbers and easily available parts. Newer looking metal with old dinged, beat up wood, or newer wood with old beat up well worn receivers, barrels etc. it’s all the same (message) to the observant/careful collector. Somebody has put together old and newer parts - and all you have to do is look at them and compare.

From the latest batch of images for comparison purposes: Here is what I will arbitrarily call S link # 1. S link # 3. S link # 2 w-mid scab attachment - noting here the typical appearance of a M 1936 hard soldered joint. And the upper scabbard locket attachment point with the attaching tab, (which to me in the image appears to be done somewhat differently).

PS: If anyone questions the accuracy of the images that may be a valid objection, with the obvious solution new updated images to take their place. FP

Thanks Alex-I know this must be frustrating. I can tell you that the majority have no problems with the piece. Enjoy and don't worry about this thread-you have a great piece and there would always be many willing buyers, regardless of Dr.'s idiocies and the Frogs incessant pictures and negative comments. Congrats on a great dagger dude.
