You flatter me.I am glad you respect my highly valued opinions on edge weapons. No it does not seem too be a parts or restored dagger IMO.After talking with you earlier I feel this dagger may be out of your league and it may be best for you to stick with RZM daggers why you are still learning about theses items. As you have seen the details can get confusing to the beginner. This is a serious dagger for serious money and not something too play around with.If you get my drift? Thank you for asking.

Same question. I'd be interested in seeing the piece and how the auction turns out.

Here is the piece. Don't worry Ted, this one is nothing compared to yours.

Grip looks like a little more than minor cracking as described....I too though am curious to see the final price; although I'm not too firm on this or any auction setting true prices due to different factors...

              That's a relief!
Thanks for the link. It'll be interesting to see how this one fares. I haven't seen this sort of item sell in an auction format before. Probably not that uncommon, but my buying experience is confined to dealers and individuals, not auction houses..

I like to watch the auctions as well, but I don't always "trust" their results.

Is there any possibility of taking a SA Rohm inscribed blade and adding a SS grip in order to upgrade it?

Yes, you would have a Alles fur Deutschland motto on the obverse and SS grip on the hilt.

I was thinking of someone switching mottos on the blade - difficult to do I guess.

Brian, how would that work? Doesn't make sense, even harder than getting the motto etched correct than the dedication. At least as difficult if not more.

Near perfect reproductions are being made now.An original cannot be discerned on line.Gottlieb offers a lifetime guarantee so you will have a long time too inspect it. The more value an item has the more care will be taken to reproduce it. The Chinese make perfect Rolex watches. Also USA currency which is produced to combat fakery can fool experts

This is a rare and high-end piece, all right...I only wish the piece hadn't been dis-assembled...
