Funny thing is I was one of the first 25 to register when it started...been there since the beginning and it was OK when everyone was playing nice...even the Bad guys were OK....But things happened,people left,BIG NAMES truly never came back on and then all heck broke loose.


Anyways I KNOW dave Reads this so HI DAVE.......RETURN MY EMAILS....That is all.

Watch when things get a little hotter...deletions followed by suspensions. Gotta protect the "Brotherhood of the Inner Circle".
Actually Dave is not helping Ron but is making it a lot worse by it being so obvious.

That has got to be one of the most incredible situations I have seen go on over there yet. 3 topics and as soon as anyone opens their mouth, Dave is actually jumping down their throats. Its amazing to watch really.

It would not be so bad, Weinand put the thing up on here for opinion, and when he does not like the opinion he runs towards home turf and markets it there with not a word. That's an ethical issue, and truth be told? what happens when the buyer finds out it really is bad?. The guy would not refund 300.00 on a bad rail eagle and he is going to slice open his mattress for 7k??. Who believes that?. Not me.

No one wants to say anything because their afraid to. Motel buy this, out of the woodwork that, yada, yada. Fine, no problem but not on a piece such as this from a guy who wont honor a 300.00 refund on a clearly bad piece. Talk about getting bit in the ass.

GDC is DOA.

GDC was set-up initially to fulfill a greedy lust for acquisition (BY a few dishonest individuals) of vanishing 3rd Reich militaria stock for business purposes. I had somehow come to think that the purpose of the site was to educate. MAN, was I wrong.

Education was a far sight from where GDC wanted to go. Some wanted to cash in on personal experiences and knowledge as IF it was the ultimate answer to Collector's. One Admin person wanted to "market" my Army list and cash in on that much the same as a noted SA list. The light bulb came on at that point and I refused to sell my personal opinions. Education was the farthest thing from GDC's mind! $$$$ was the motivator. There again, I always liked collecting because it fascinated me, historically speaking, by finding and documenting Army dagger variations. MONEY just did NOT enter the picture for me personally.

I admit to be privy to many things that happened on that site. Total and complete Dishonesty, Greed, and Protectionism of those that were involved in the Scam. One "Admin gentleman" on GDC told me I could not buy this type of entertainment IF I looked for it and it was "our duty to stir the pot and generate dissension and attain the "entertainment" value from that stirring. (Patrice is NOT one of my favorite people possibly due in part to a "language" bridge and what I see as a form of "elitism" in his attitude. That's personal and has zero to do with GDC. Pat was ALWAYS used as a Patsy by GDC. He probably didn't know it, but it was and Appears to be to this day, a Patsy thing GDC and Admin's reason for "picking on" Patrice. His attacks on GDC come as NO surprise to me.)

I could go on and on about what happened behind the scenes, but I just don't care anymore aside from caring about GDC biting the dust!

I got the axe for asking too many questions admittedly pointed questions about GDC in general and some of the "good people" operating there.

I DID get quite upset and say some things I should not have said. I later apologized to those people, For the most part anyway. Some I did not because I felt and Still feel that they were part of the problem.

GDC had POTENTIAL, but that got lost in the mire when they loosed the hogs to hit the feed trough. Saw a Qoute the other day. "Pigs get fed, hogs get slaughtered." Very applicable w/GDC.

Well, there is one guy who did not find that amusing and I can't say I gave that much thought as it is so widely accepted that GDC is a bunghole of corruption that I forgot that an insider would not see it for what it is.

So in fairness, I did not mean to imply that Weinand would not honor an inspection, I meant once that inspection is over your chances of recovery are slim to none if the cap turned out to be bad. But that applies to many dealers.

This cap has opened a can of worms, but what it has really done is exposed GDC an how it operates. And the Grand Poobah "Hohaus" has run it into the ground and there is no one there that has the expertise to debate that cap as they have all been chased away or left due to the stacked house mentality. So the only way to put out the fire is for Hohaus to try and toss buckets of water at it and unfortunately use his power to take on other GDC members who are just asking about the cap. What it has turned into is what I must admit to be a very sad view of the reality of the hobby and why collectors are running for the hills. It is a pillar of deceit and although there are some good guys there, management has done them no justice and have done nothing for the hobby but suck the blood out of it for personal gain, and went as far as to delete any threads of value to make room on their servers.

A disaster and a disgrace to the hobby.

If I remember correctly the Refund thing was really heated.That was not a BAD Thing though...if your a dealer then you have to be prepared for every angle of attack.

DJ Nice to see you posting here,I was TOM on the Site and always respected your opinions.Sadly those like you were cast aside and thats a shame,we could learn more from you in 5 minutes than 10 years with C.G.

1 VERY Funny story....Lady posted PICS of the MAX AMANN Dagger,it was shown in a very early dagger book but it was just a period pic....this ladys Relative had it and she wanted info...and naturally it landed in San Diego.

DJ, if this is correct, and I don't doubt your honesty, then I am quite sadly dis-illusioned. I find some great threads on GDC and there are some very good members there, although the numbers are certainly dwindling.

I must say I was surprised at the attack on Mr Ailsby, being told to 'fold his tent'. Seems ok for some to cast insults, but not others - very one sided, and fits your post above. Presumably, 'fold your tent' means to 'go elsewhere', putting it in a polite form.

AND I'm not saying there aren't some good people hanging on at GDC. They just have NOT become disillusioned to the point that they have left. There may well be some good things remaining, but the number is dwindling, daily.

He did say that I could get back in good graces if I would issue a public apology. I replied "NOT til Hell freezes over!". I have not and will not ever do that as I was NOT in the wrong, GDC and their brand of "honesty" was.

I'll shut-up now as this still makes my blood boil....... although it would be nice to see that den of inequity go belly up......

Denny, your actions are commendable and shows your a man of honesty and honor.

Oh, and we can be sure that this thread will soon be pruned as others have that particularly show the inherent dishonesty in that "Den of Inequity".
