Here is the Umformer connected to the junction box, and a better picture of the box with two outlets. I'm very interestedin more information about this particular "Steckdose" if anyone knows what it was for, and where it might have been used.

Anyway, I just put together a improvized setup, with only a 20m electrical wire as an antenna, I powered up the transmitter, using the Umformer and a 12 volt car battery.

The radio works just fine now. There is however a drift of about 15KHz in the frequenzy transmitted, wich I have tried to illustrate in the next picture. The recieving radio was set to 1314 KHz on the AM band:

I got a loud and clear telephony signal on the AM band on our radio from the transmitter, using a throat microphone.
I will do a more extensive test outside, with proper antenna and ground cable later.
I will post a better report and pictures and a film and sound recording when I get it done.
This was real fun. I'm still quite worked up about the outcome of this project so far.

      Cheers

Haha - nice 5W.s. , Yuri. I must say that I do understand why they cose to make a print with the 5W.s. for their shirts - because these radios are just so good looking :-)
Thanks for the compliment on my restoration progress, btw.

Thanks Ragnar. That sounds very nice :-)

            Cheers

Good to hear the progress, Bjørn. Looking forward the fieldtest and the film

Isn't that Steckanschluß from Funkwagen? I see there Bosch 12V connectors, typical 12V battery connectors in the Funkwagen.

The socket board is part of the "Schalt-Anschluss (Fu) b", which is essentially the "Schaltkasten (Fu) b" build into a wooden box:

                  <a href="http://s672.photobucket.com/albums/vv86/Funksammler/?action=view&amp;current=14-2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i672.photobucket.com/albums/vv86/Funksammler/14-2.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

The "Schalt-Anschluss (Fu) b was used if the radio installation was set up outside the vehicle:

                  <a href="http://s672.photobucket.com/albums/vv86/Funksammler/?action=view&amp;current=13-2.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i672.photobucket.com/albums/vv86/Funksammler/13-2.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

I am still looking for the complete box, so if anybody has one to part with....:-)

                  regards,

                  Funksammler

Thanks, Funksammler. Does anyone have a real world image of that box?

Hi. Thanks for your comments, and thanks to Funksammler for helping me identify the correct use of this "Steckdose" that I have.

thanks Val, for the link to that document, about the different powersupplies to the 5W.s. This was very interesting reading to me.

                        Kind Regards

If you don't mind, could you make some all around pictures of your's Steckanschluß? Interesting stuff. Thanks.

And I opened it up, an pictured the insides too.
Here is the casing on the inside:

It seems to be 41 dated:

Here are the last two pictures. It's quite complex. But then again, when did the Germans ever make anything simple....

I also have this nice original issue "handmikrofon" for the 5W.s. This part has been laying around in my "parts box" for years, until I recognized it from pictures with the 5W.s.
I actually thought that this was a civillian microphone, and did not pay any attention to it, before I realized what it was.
