                    Remco, tnx. again for the link, finally I could restore the wooden case to its -almost- original shape. Got the grey painting to cover the newly added "legs", and it is a 1943 piece anyway:


                    However I don't have an original Ledertasche for it, the Nummernscheibenkästchentasche für das FF26 und OB17 (in the background of the image above) with an extra 12mm felt layer is holding it securely during transportation:
