    My Visor's Collection

Hi Guys. I am more a "Paper-Guy", but, collecting Groupings for some Decades, I had some Opportunities to get some nice Visors. Nothing extraordinary, but sometimes connected with a Name and a Soldier's Life, that's the main Reason I love them. I spent some Hours on this Part of the Forum, and must say, I learned a lot and I am very impressed about the Level of expertise of some great Threads here, especially about markings § makers... WOW.

I start with this one. A "Peküro" which belonged to Soldier (OFW at the end of the War) Herbert Mohr. I own some Papers of Mohr, his Dog tag. Note he served in the "Sturmbataillon Brandenburg" when he was captured. Note the Name of the Reseller "engraved" on the Rhodoïd, located in Pirmasens, where the Unit of Mohr (Grenz-Inf.Rgt.128) was located. <p><img src="http://cdn01.trixum.de/upload2/3/q/3qV2G8h0a7nY146929175212P1683.jpg"></p>

    Hello 708VGD,
For a fellow new to visor caps, you sure found a wonderful example! Peter Kupper is one of the better cap makers and to have such complete information on the owner of the cap is fantastic. There were just a couple of border (grenz) infantry units before the war, and were considered somewhat more special/elite as they were protecting the borders vs just protecting the beer gardens.
For me personally, I like that he received the ISA for actions in the 1940 campaign in France!
    Thank you and best wishes,
    Curtiss

This one belonged to the Major Hans Kleinkorres. It is a Part from an extensive Group I got from the Family for Years. I think that this Visor was his "reserve-one" he had at Home an probably never wore.... I don't know why, but the Cocarde had suffered throughout the Years....
Can anybody tell me more about the Maker ?? <p><img src="http://cdn04.trixum.de/upload2/b/F/bFYhWU3iBaJV146929267685P1683.jpg"></p>

        Lionel, my friend!
the maker is Clemens Wagner and it's a highly faked cap but you've got a good one of course..

I have a Panzer officer visor by the same maker.. they make a beautiful cap!!

            Hallo 708

Very nice PeKuRo from a rare retailer: Friedrich Heisel, Hut und Pelzwarengeschaft, Hauptstr. 54, as for the Adressbuch Pirmasens:

The third is probably my favourite. It belonged to Leutnant Gustav-Adolf Martin, who served lately in the "N.Z./Pz.A.A.4 Stahnsdorf" (Nachrichten-Zug/ Panzer-Auflkärungs-Abt.4 in Stahnsdorf (by Berlin). I got it for Years with several Uniforms, Trousers and Equipment, and a second Visor... I know I should be ashamed, but I was younger, and it was too expensive for me at that time to afford all the Stuff.... I only kept the Visor with "Schwedt-Adler", his Dog Tag, and the interesting attestation of 1959 confirming that Martin swas incorporated in the Reiter-Ersatz-Schwadron 6, and as a consequence eligible to the Wear of the "Schwedt Adler" on his Cap. It is a salty and heavily worn Visor with (IMO) a great "broken" Form... M. served in Africa and Russia, was decorated with the E.K.II and the "Afrika" Cuff... His last Unit 1945 was the Begleit-Kp./6.Pz.Div.<p><img src="http://cdn01.trixum.de/upload2/4/H/4H8iFBf7cl5A146929395034P1683.jpg"></p>

                    Hi 708VGD,
Thanks for posting the documents! Do you have his soldbuch as well?
Yes, the second visor is a Clemans Wagner made cap, and yet another of the prime makers of lovely shaped visors!
I just love these items with paperwork and history!!!! Too many items of my collection is nameless and empty.
                    Thank you and best wishes,

                      Yes it still looks great!!
It appears some type of bug had an affinity for the fabric on only the cockade... A shame but it happens.

Not sure if you would want to, but I sometimes see this type of cockade for sale alone and you could most likely restore to original condition of you so desired.

Lionel, very nice visors. Must say the recon is my favorite as well. Few things beat a dark yellow piped visor. J

Visor, all award documents including german Cross, most of his Awards (incl. an heavy "20" DKG in box), various insignias, dog tag, Wehrpass and a good bunch of photos. Interesting for a US Collector is that he led the VGR.981 (272.I.D.) during the battle of the Bulge. As the Photo thereafter shows, he loved to wear the "totenkopf" worn by the I.R.17, but unfortunately it was not affixed to his Visor...
