Offered for sale is a original and extremely rare SS Panzer old style field cap/crusher in salty been there condition. REAL SS PZ old style caps always come in two sets of interior material construction! **See Gary Wilkins SS headgear book page 118.** Cap has early frosted over base metal insignia with wear to original frosting as seen. Prongs of eagle do NOT go through body of cap. Matching insignia! None magnetic. Has early old style field cap pink pipping with no moth nips. Body of cap shows slight moth tracking to upper right of eagle but hard to notice. There is also a slight cut near the piping where its connected..see pic. Body of cap is fairly clean but does show slight soiling and age spots here and there. The visor is covered with the textbook asphalt coating which has worn down from heat. Interior of cap shows wearing time,sweat stains and cracking to celluloid with some missing material. Celluloid is stiff and brittle! Med size 56 1/2. Leather sweat band shows use and is also someone brittle with a split to sweatband but is intact and sound. Sweatband also shows wear around interior as well. Overall a very rare cap in very collectible condition...missing from most headgear collections. Any questions just ask.
