I have one and I believe my SB is replaced as well. Interesting.

Quite. Out of my league here, but could this be post-war assembled from original, but unfinished parts?

            Derek -

I believe HS #26 is found on both black and white tags.

Could you enlighten us as to the maker?

            With regards.

Otto Schlientz was a prolific maker of political headgear. They did survive the war, at least for a while.

Here is a Schlientz that is on Ebay.de right now, and is the first WH product I can recall seeing made by them. Sweatband stirndruckfrei is similar to the one on the SS NCO hat (but not exact). IMHO, the A-SS visor is all original from top to bottom.

Logo is hard to read, but it is a Schlientz :

Wow, I'm shocked and stand corrected. I have never encountered an Allgemeine SS em with a black velvet trimmed SB. So are you saying Otto Schlientz is #26?

According to my living, breathing, RZM bible (aka Derek), yes, it is.

Well done Chris. I was hoping that knowing the maker would add some clarity to the discussion.
