The shield in the repro General's cap is being compared to Bill Shea's fabulous Infantry NCO.
The obvious difference between the two is that the repro General's cap's "Celluloid" shield has a whiteish hue to it. As we know, celluloid darkens over time, look again at Bill's nco.
This General's cap has no ageing to the celluoid shield, if it is celluloid?
Plastic often gives off the whiteish "HUE" when tilted in such a way. If the shield was real celluloid at 60 + years old, we should be able to see the Gold or Champagne liner underneath. We cannot as the shield is not celluloid!!!!
I am not a lover of this cap
