    Thank you for your astute summation of the reader's comments.

    The diamond is not plastic as mentioned, it is the same celluloid material common to the period. And present on my other visors.

    As far as the visor and sweatband I don't see any indication of post-war modification. However, I don't have it in hand at the moment and will revisit this evening when return home from work.

    The cockade looks right to me. But I don't have another example with which to compare in hand.

    Pleats, hmm, they look ok to me.

    I have several visors and a few erels (albiet kleiderklasse) I have yet to compare it to.

    I'll post more pics with lining, sweatband, vent and shield when I return home tonight.

                  And all is revealed.
                  Steel vent without a square backing plate, chopped up sweatband at the rear, terrible folding of the side lining panels and a sweatshield that looks to have the logo printed directly to it. If you have the opportunity, I would advise you send this one back for a refund.
