Don the debate on these has been going on for years. When I first got into visors around 1990 I was told by a long time collector they were fakes made post war with “some” period parts. I was also told the same for Alteste’s. When I first started collecting many still thought Alteste’s were period visors. Hell some still do today. I have always tried to prove the existence of these one way or another but have had no luck. My personal feelings are these are post war. Am I right? Who knows until something solid in the way of proof comes through. I would be satisfied with a German vet acquired one. If these were made by Lubstein prior to 1945 they would fly in the face of everything I know about Erel visors. I certainly would never say never but I know I will not be buying any.

This is not true, NTZ did buy one, a Medical without insignia. It was the spitting image of one I owned and I was skeptical about it, not ever happy if you know what I mean. I no longer own mine thankgod and I believe NTZ's has slipped off to pastures new.

I think I told Dave Kane this story but I swear it is true. My father lives in Las Vegas and visits a few times a year. He never collected and know NOTHING about anything WWII TR or otherwise. He likes looking at the stuff though. I came home from work one day and my dad had 6 or 7 of my visors on the table looking at them. He picked up that Medical late war and said “This isn’t real, it looks like someone made it yesterday in their basement”. From the mouths of babes(a 25yr retired detective who has great perceptive skills). Let me tell you it was not because of condition. I have 4 or 5 unissued visors.
