AHHHH but there was supposed to be an army white top made..but it hink the war stopped ints late intro,A foto of the 1 of the prototypes is in the back of 1 of the uniforms and traditions books..Saw it years ago..very cool..wolfe hardin had it last I saw it..Billbert

Here is a picture of the SS hat that was mentioned above. I'm afraid the photo is not the greatest, I'll try and post something better later in the week.

Could it be from a veterans group; Navy or Heer Genarel Officer?

Absolutely Karl, the answer was mainly in the eagle.
Look also at the anchor just below the Iron Cross (post 37).

This is a white summer cap for a high ranking leader of the NSDMB (National-Sozialistische Deutscher Marine-Bund) to be somewhat compared to an “Admiral veteran”.

The cap band is dark blue and is piped in gold. The top is made of high quality white wool gabardine and is not removable.
