    Show your Summer Visors

Since summer is almost here, I thought it would be interesting to see some summer headgear.
Here's my first Sommermutze, I got it last month from mjfur. I love the shape of this one

I had an army signals officer cap of this make with a Stirndrueckfrei felt cushion. It was a very nice, well made piece. I sold it via a southern California outlet. Your caps are extraordinary. Danke vielmals.

So far some very beautiful visors. Now we just need to have someone post a nice white Alg. Visor. I have yet to see an original.

Derek Chapman posted some images of his officer's cap on the GDC, but it has none of the VA RZM SS features. There is an older image of one found in Nuremberg also on the GDC, with a black interior, as well as the famous Zyla image in the Shutt book. The white cap is listed in the 1940 Kleiderkasse price list for officers. Perhaps colleague Chapman can share further of his marvelous images from his Schatzkammer.

I would love to see them. For me the white Alg. is as good as it gets.

The image in Mollo is taken from a volume of photos from the 1936 Olympics, especially with the Berlin Reiter Sta as some Olympic equestrian event. In the Arndt Verlag book on the 1938 Reichsparteitag is an image of Himmler with Austrian Allgemeine SS troops about to have their Sturmfahnen consecrated, and a SS Reiter in the background has the white cap with the black uniform. The image is not especially distinct, but it is unmistakable.
Never say never as regards such headwear, but I think such a piece is a bridge too far for the rest of us.
