Last comparison to Harry's. Now it seems OK to me... Material weave seems the same also. Maybe just a difference in the way the stamp hit the material and how much ink hit the nine. Date looks better to me now.

Am just noticing your posts. That officer's cap looks fine and I think I have seen it before. The bullion eagle is a replacement, but could be wartime done. Any history on the cap?

I would love your opinion regarding this sidecap I got in the past , no doubt about being legit but maker's stamp is really faded / not visible .
Can you find out something more looking at material , eagle , cockade and the few ink you can see on the lining ?

After selling my LW tropical officer cap to a friend who just 'had to have it', and then turned around and sold it a few weeks later; I was very happy to find this example earlier this week.

Beautiful cap Paolo! Not certain of the maker, could be any of several possibilities. I keep trying to see "Hoffmann" but not sure that is fair as I am partial to that manufacturer.
