My panzer M43 cap for opinions

The cap may have been washed in gasoline or kerosene which was an at the front cleaner degreaser..I also like the cap more than I don’t..it’s the first army panzer size marked example I think might be AOK..and I think it may be manufactured by same company that produced the tropical overseas cap shown..JMHO BILLBERT

richthofen_117 can we see the reverse area of the button holes. Any reinforcement material there ? I'm guessing no bias material with it only having a single row of stitching on the top fold of the front scalops

IMO a good cap which was never dyed of course … how come you could still have a grey sillk lining ( not black ) and grey threads on a black dyed cap ?
Typical post 43 late war black wool quality .
The silk is not really typical but why not ?
Regarding the aroles of dirt inside , if you try to wash an old cap you will always have traces of the dirt ?
The size stamping is different than the tropical side cap presented, but ok for me .

We are still missing pics with flaps open , backside of buttons and yet its given thumbs up as orginal.

And I am not saying it does Daniel, but have floated the idea of it being a possibility

All I have done, is made one comparison between the "57" in a CW cap and the "57" in the Panzer M43. I have also noted that some caps and hats made by CW were size stamped only with no makers stamp. The two 57's are similar but not exact.

I also advised that looking at threads about fake caps marked "57" need to be compared with too

This is a good starting for anyone comparing the font of the size stamp.

Keep in mind that anyone can post their opinion based on whatever but adding something of substance is more helpful,

Left lying on a road abandon in 1945 or worn by a POW to 1946 ?

North of Italy in blazing sun 1944-45 ?

Who will ever know for sure but the washed out wear and fading looks real-deal,
