Anybody else? Don't be shy guys, I am not going to bite. If you want to learn you have to show a bit of effort...

Sorry - don't have a lot of time today but my belief is that the 36/38 numbers are larger than the typically accepted originals, perhaps even the RZM stamp. Might I also say this is a very good buckle to test our supposed experience with SS originals vs fakes.

      FAKE is my answer......

If it is a fake that would fool me. Catch and stamping look convincing.

However when I look closer prong assembly seems to be cast or at least filed. Also sort of parting line is visible around the outer circumference of the buckle, so now I am not so sure. Parting line is a metal overflow between two halves of the dies during casting process.

The circle around the markings isn’t fully stamped. I hope it is original or the fakes are getting much better.

Well, it has my vote as an original.

And what about this one? Any person having answered to the previous buckle should be able to answer to this one.

So Original or fake? And why

                  Multiple casting flaws.

Oh, wow! I can see that this one is cast. It is not so noticable on the other example, but I still would love to see the front side of the first one. This is scary.

                      IMHO

                      Nothing is what it seems.
It can also be dust from manufactiring.
I assume a piese is worn.

                      Best

Since I am waiting for replies of Ivan, Dan and Kirby, here are pictures of the front of both buckles. Order is the same as their backs.

Now I like less the first buckle, the details are worse however I like the 2nd buckle when seeing his obverse, it is possible that the peebled surfaces are only frost
                          Both original

First one is Fake and the 2nd is Original

So Jean Pierre, would i be right in saying that because the cast fake buckle has crisp stampings ,that this is because they would be added after manufacture while the original crisply stamped buckle has poorer codes because that is done during the stamping process, this could send you mad

                                Thanks
                                Bob
