Black Wound Badge Opinions Please

The hinge and catch do not really condemn it, but the rest of the evidence does.

This has been another very good example of a learning curve.

As Hans has said, we all get burnt at some point or other. I for one bought a couple of EK2 mm113 some 20 plus years ago, for years I believed they were original - then the bad news came home - both were fakes, I felt gutted and at first didn't want to believe the evidence in front of me - but stepping back and looking again at the evidence I accepted the facts before me - and I thought I knew about EK's. It's a constant learning curve and fight against the fakers. you learn something new every day.

These badges are stamped as most of the black wb fakes and you are right BWB are not
safe anymore or have been for some time.

Unfortunately I have seen more and more of the “simpler” badges/awards being faked
and that would make sense for the faker, it would be much easier to sell 1000 fake BWB
than a single fake Knights Cross. Until recently no one cared about BWB’s or even
looked closely at them but who wouldn’t look carefully buying a KC

Don’t be hard on yourself Kai ask if anyone here haven’t got a bad one once and a while

Hi Ronny, I have spent many many years collecting all kinds of militaria. I take allot of pride in my research of my pieces that I purchase for my collections, especially my TR one. I study as much as I can and I do not except a piece into my collection until I am 100% happy with it concerning authenticity etc. I have spent many many hours on the forum and looking through books etc and also handling many period badges. And this one I was 100% happy with. If this turns out to be a bad one Ronny then I am totally lost for words, and yes I would have learned something very new also. As if the fakers have old paint and old hardware sets for their fake badges then we are in big trouble! And if this badge does turn out to be a fake I will send the badge to you free of charge Ronny for your research! That will not be a problem! I will wait for more opinions on this badge from the rest of the wound badge collectors, as IMO it is a good one!

Ronny - in English the phrase would be "that's a sh1t way of doing things", so your "Fy fan" was pretty close to the mark.

Can be found also and as packeted with fakes of course bags bearing the firm of Fritz Kohm

From my rush i made a mistake, the bags are not stamped Fritz Kohm but Heinrich Vogt...by the way other fake bags with that fakes is Frank & Reif.
