Gary, you a hundred percent correct. I have only seen a couple of these in the time I have been collecting. These 1st flieger treffen pins are extremely rare.
Ralph, by any chance is it maker marked?

      That one is not marked.

      But this one is!
Also, note the missing angle to the upper right center of the cross.

I dont collect these, but I have a couple. This is the only one worth mentioning though. Hard to top that spread eagle one that Ralph posted anyway.

Sharp looking tinnie! If they all looked like that, I would probably collect them too.

Nice one Mark. I have become more fond of these things simply because there are so many different ones. To keep the war going,,,I'll shoot off another round.

Well, here are a few of my favorites. The all time favorite has to be the one in the upper right corner as it combines my two favorite hobbies, collecting Third Reich items and drinking beer!

I thought this was a sniper shot or single cannon round type of war. Richard just made one hellava bombing run. Nice tinnies, Richard.

As Ralph carpet bombed us with his wonderful May Day series collection I'll fire off another single round......By the way, some of my zincers are having the same problem. Any suggestions on how to stop the rotting away zinc problem?

Gary, what I did with mine was I gave them a good scrubing with a dry old tooth brush to knock off a the loose white crud then I gave them a coat of clear lacquer. Just be sure they are really dry before you seal them. Mine have lasted over a year now with out a trace of white crud returning it even brought out some of the details that I thought was lost due to the corrosion. Does anyone know why they changed from good quality metal in 1934/36 to potmetal in 37/39 in both the 1st of May and Reichspartei badges.

Is this a private war or can anyone jump in ?,if so I will soften you up with some heavy artillery and then send in the infantry.

Great advice, jnoble! I'll do that for sure.

I guess I'll shoot back now!
