Nice early pin. It is a bit hard to make out but is it a 1927 RPT pin without the rosette?

It has been pretty fruitful although seemed a bit slow with tons of fakes and stupid prices. I picked up the 39 RPT tinnie in cupal for you since you did not attend so shoot me your mailing address in a PM when you can.

Yes, it is. Believe or not I have a loose rosette I picked up a while back so it will be a chance to match them together.

            cheers

That's incredible Matt. Hard to believe a rosette went awol and survived the years without the metal eagle.

It has been attached to a tinnie. I came across it when looking for some medal ribbons on dealers site. I hope I still have it.

                cheers

                  MANY THANKS!!!

Not many collectors would do this for someone else on the other side of the world.

                    pics

Better pics of Bronze Thuringen. It is the first for me to see this badge with signs of wear on it. Numbered 1046.

                    cheers

                      1927 Nurnberg pin

And my 27 RPT pin. Few spots of finish left to the front and quite a bit on the back. Now just have to dig out the rosette. Rare animal.

                      cheers

                        Matt,

The 27 RPT pin is a screamer!

Thanks Erich! I was hoping to meet up with you- hopefully we will soon. Maybe Pomona Show?
The show was so-so in a way of finding decent stuff but as usual meeting with friends was awesome and made up for it. Making few new ones was also great. Other than that- tons of fakes, silly prices (one guy had an Egendorf pin priced at $1550- "cuz ya know, its a rare one. and silver too so make me an offer but be realistic").
There were few political diamonds in the the sea of fakes, even some one of a kind items changed hands. It was good education re: new, high end fakes (if I was into silver Gahr SS stickpins I would be somewhat uneasy, same with Spanish Division medals in zinc, fire crosses, luftschutz medals plus few others).
All in all I enjoyed it very much and got back with few trinkets.

                          cheers

Re. the '27. Has the loop broken off the end of the pin?
