    Maybe one of our RAD experts can give us a rough idea of how many men were in an Abteilung?

    I have always thought that there are far, far, far too many of these badges floating around for a single RAD unit, even discounting for the number of fakes.

      Sorry Yancy we were posting at the same time & I'd missed your next set of comparisons, I only saw the first!

      With regard to Roberts I can still see enough similarities for me not to be concerned. The letters are certainly not as clear as on some of the others but I would still put it down to hand finishing, the "u" is still short, the "E" still turns up slightly, the angle of the letter "T" in arbeits is at the same angle.....

      I have no idea what's going on with George's badge though I'd love to get my hands on it.....

                        i just got a box of photo copies and microfilm of RAD related documents from the national archives,the The E.D.S. (European Documents Section) of Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force, Evaluation and Dissemination Section G-2 (Counter Intelligence Sub-Division) documents back up what Michael said about there being no abteilung 305/4 located in braunsweig!does anyone have anything else to add to this old discussion?

                          to add to what i said about abteilung 305/4 not being located in braunsweig-Braunsweig is located in Arbeitsgau XVIII,RAD abteilung 305/4 is in Arbeitsgau XXX,so not only is the abteilung not in that town its not even in the same arbeitsgau,the more i look into this from a RAD standpoint (as opposed to a membership pin collector)its makeing even less sense.(im posting the same info in another thread as well,we have 2 threads going on the same pin!)
