Thanks Gents! Apparently Emil Kirdorf (another German National) was awarded this decoration although I could not find which grade he received. Did Himmler receive this order as well?

    cheers

I have the I stufe version awarded to an Japanese foreign Service man named:Akira Kodaki.....I understood he was awarded the neck order early , but cannot locate any records as to when his Eagle Order was presented. He was the interpreter for General Mullins ( of post war occupation forces) in the Osaka region of Japan under Mac Aurthur . Are there any any Japanese collectors out there who can check the Japanese WW2 Diplomat corps records , and see what they can find out about Mr. Kodaki...especially when His eagle order was awarded , and by now I would assume he is passed on. I was always under the assumption that the eagles posted as regarding years produced , and their types..were opposite ....as it was claimed he got his in 36, and the gagle matches the one listed as the 39 version ....can anyone else verify if I am incorrect or not . The claim was that this award I have was an early version...so to clarify that part to know for sure ,would be appreciated) Nice collection...but still is a minefield for those who ever hope to score a provenanc'd award of any grade... I see many times more repros by far, than originals...good luck to those are hunting for one. I wanted one ever since the medals display on the front of 'True" magazine back in the mid sixties. I still have the copy somewhere

              Exact!
              This fact is true:

              http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emil_Kirdorf

At the moment we know four Germans with the order of the German Eagle and I do not rule out that they were more than we initially thought.

von Ribbentrop and von Neurath received the special class of the Grand Cross of the Eagle German gold

Funny though, according to Wikipedia Hiltler awarded Kirkdorf his award before it was even instituted

                  cheers

I imagine that Adolf Hitler gave the order of the German Eagle Emil not the day of his 90th birthday (April 8, 1937), but would be granted newly created the order of the Eagle as a commemoration of his 90th birthday and for his support for the nazi party.

                        Frank

If Neurath and Frick received those decorations due to their positions as Reichsprotektors then wouldn't Hans Frank be awarded the same due to his position? I ask because I seem to recall somewhere that he did in fact receive it. Can't recall the source though.
                        cheers

Matthew : Is their photos of them with this award???

                          Matthew :

It would be easy to spot in a photo if the sash had a white line in the middle of it but I have not seen any photos of people with the 1943 1st class examples being worn. Have you seen any?

I can not say I have ever seen Frank wearing anything even resembling this order. wish I remembered where I read he got one- it could be a starting point for more research but sadly I do not.
                            Cheers

This might be correct, but I was trying to make a point. Everything written on Wikipedia isnĀ“t necessarily true.

Weitze has a 1.Klasse for sale. You can also check "Medalnet, he has a gorgeous cross on his site.

Do Any of you collectors out there have photos !!!

Do any of you collectors have photos of the 1943 1st Class Eagle Order being worn with the white stripe in the middle of the Sash ??

Its possible that it was made by Godet but never issued !!!

This would also mean that this award is rarer than most collectors think !!!!

Any help or input out there would be nice to know !!!!

                                Thanks
