    HJ Honor w/ Oakleaves

    Hi

I won it for peanuts. So I figured why not chance it.

I showed pics to one member already and he was not into it, I figured it was cheap so what the hay. It just looks better then most of the copies I seen and I like the engraving being it looks period, at least to me. The content marking I have no idea even what it says. The badge is in the mail to me so I cant foto it up. Any other thoughts on this one?

    Cheers
    Dion

      Hi Don,
Went through it, it seems to turn into a slugging fest.

Like it better than Weitze's. Isn't the stamp to read "585" ?

Thats what I was under the impression of also. I read about them for 1 week prior to trying to get it. I can only make out an 8 on it and it looks to be the last number and not the middle number. It only caught my eye because it wasnt even being hyped up to be sold, it was described as HJ Pin and an Ost Medaille and when I seen the photo from afar I noticed the quality was way better then most of the fakes I seen. When it gets here I will photo it up properly and see what the heck the content marking is. I do like the aging, the detail on the leaves , the catch and the etching looks period to me, this is only from my experience with items from the period. I never read up on these because I figured I would never see one.

It shows worn off edges and surface. Doesn't look like real gold to me. I'm very sceptical.

We will see what it is when it gets here. For the price I got it for its worth checking it out in hand. Heres another shot of it.

Does anyone know what an original is supposed to look like! some
say they should be RZM marked others say not. Should they be
silver gilt or real gold, with an issue number what type of pin fixing.

With these being offered for 2-3 thousand euro i would not touch
                    one with a barge pole.
                    Regards

Originals are very rare and made of real gold. They have certainly no RZM mark. The RZM had nothing to do with this award. The pin and catc of originals is pretty much the same as the one that started this thread.

                      Regards, Wim

As answered to you from Wim, all I know is I will touch one for a couple euros with what I seen from it, nothing more nothing less. Hey, I even got an Ost Medaille to settle the difference a bit

I like the jeweled version Baldur von Schirach received on his birthday in 1942. I wish I knew the exact number of recipients and am sure they kept a recipient list within the HJ-Reichfuhrung.
