Excellent Tom, and yes, to go to the trouble of having it jeweler mounted it must of meant quite a lot to the recipient. I agree that there is more than meets the eye with these badges and I just hope that someone can find out more about it's history. Greg?

Do not have an example of this badge and was never really interested in it until I saw this solid backed example. Wow! Now there is something else to look out for!!!

This is the only backed version I've ever seen. Maybe it was a special edition for one of the organizers of the event?

I have seen only one other solid back badge and it was in a gold finish. Again, it was a very special badge to at least a few of the recipients!

                          John,

That wonderful stickpin set my old heart fluttering.

Remarkable to see a "full size" and "miniature" lapel pin version of this so called plain and simple commemorative badge. Even more remarkable to see a wonderfully "jewellers set" example of again - an in theory, a plain and simple commemorative badge.

Commemorative, I wonder? Perhaps there is more than meets the eye here and as Greg has alluded to?

                            Regards,

                            David

Dear John Pepera..... Thank you very much. You have a treasure.
                              Ultimately......
Now, please, we are waiting for an explanation from those who said that this one is only a event badge.
What kind of tinnie are we found having its own miniature?
I can´t imagine a firm spending money and effort to make miniatures of a common tinnie, or a guy taking one of these tinnies to a jeweler to put it an special back to make it more solid and sure.
I´m researsing about the nature of this badge and what it become after its creation as a fest-abzeichen in 1933. I´ll continue doing it and I ask for your help in this target, because now we must be sure that this was more than a event-badge watching the pictures posted in this thread from those where we can see it being proudly worn several years after 1933, to these showing the mini and the jeweler mounted one.
We only need some TR time paper talking about the ultimate status of this amazing badge. I hope to find it soon with the help of all of you.

Are you sure it's a miniature version of the München badge? I ask because the proportion of the swastika to the wreath is different, there is no scroll nor a suggestion of a scroll on the wreath, and no '1933' on the swastika. Miniatures are usually pretty close in design to the full sized version of whatever they're representing.
Could it be a patriotic pin unrelated to the München badge?
