Gentlemen: In response to the thread regarding the oblong pin plates, which show a SA/SS 1933 Ski badge with an oblong pin plate, here is an example without such a plate. It is still clipped to some extent, but different than the one posted. These were participant's badges, not award pieces in my opinion. Your informed, factual opinions are sought.Attached Files

I had an original specimen which I sold to Steve Wolfe for $2,000. I believe that he sold it to the late Brant Murphy and for sure not at a loss.
Mine was manufacture identified as "C. Poellath - Schrobenhausen" on the pin plate and it was a silver washed heavy metal with polished high lights.
Considering the obvious obscurity of this badge I would highly doubt any room for any variations and especially not an aluminum version.
