            Hello,
Matovsky, the badge you show in this thread, are you saying it is an original? Reason why I ask is that the pin plate looks like the post war clipped end pin plates. Just wondering, thanks

Gentlemen: In response to the thread regarding the oblong pin plates, which show a SA/SS 1933 Ski badge with an oblong pin plate, here is an example without such a plate. It is still clipped to some extent, but different than the one posted. These were participant's badges, not award pieces in my opinion. Your informed, factual opinions are sought.

So is the one posted by Robin original, and the other one fake?

I have seen quite a few of these about in a heavy metal, I didn't like any of them.
A bigger picture of the reverse of yours would be nice Robin.
                      Regards,
                      Pete

                        pin

I also was led to believe that these were fantasy pieces, but after seeing Robin`s, I`m not so sure. It looks to be of a better quality with a standard known pin.

The pin in question is not a fantasy item here's a picture of one in ware.

I had an original specimen which I sold to Steve Wolfe for $2,000. I believe that he sold it to the late Brant Murphy and for sure not at a loss.

Mine was manufacture identified as "C. Poellath - Schrobenhausen" on the pin plate and it was a silver washed heavy metal with polished high lights.

Considering the obvious obscurity of this badge I would highly doubt any room for any variations and especially not an aluminum version.

                            Regards,

                            John Pepera
