i believe they are Lto R gold silver and bronze. The gold one rettained more gold on the pin, and appears to be a zincer washed..but i may be wrong.

Very nice! My mother tells me she tried to get transferred to a horse training school, the only one of its type all 'manned' by ladies. Have you heard of this school? The Reich had a need for horses albeit very limited in the war for their 'cavalry' officers.
The 8th SS Cavalry Division cuff title...Last edited by Brian S; 07-03-2009, 08:14 PM.

I am not a self proclaimed horse badge expert. I have a few and have been looking for a gold. What concerned me about this one is a few things; 1)the other S & L versions I have seen had very clear lettering. This one is missing a lot of the lettering and more so is that where that lettering should be the gold wash is very strong. Hard to believe S & L would let a badge out the door with a large portion of their name completely missing. In a gold version no less. 2)Other S & L pins I have seen did not extend out well below the bottom of the badge. 3)The gold that is there looks very bright and splotchy considering it is a zinc badge.
I am looking for other comparisons to either confirm this is similar to known good badges or not. I would also like to see the known repros.

There's been little to no interest in these for years, so looking again now at these I see the S&L and the faintly marked piece are probably both S&L. The one bronze obviously S&L the other one, I'll let you determine the color... Here they are side by side...
Maybe this will help you with the one on eStand.
