Interesting to have this thread come up again. One reference that has not been mentioned is the Organisationsbuch der NSDAP, somewhat the bible for the NSDAP organization. The 1938 edition has two pages of illustrations of the Ehrenzeichen of the NSDAP. It illustrates the Danzig, women's (circular, small) Baden and Thüringen with only silver mentioned in the description. The Berlin and men's Baden (oval, large) mention both silver and gold in the description. The Osthannover mentions gold, silver and bronze in the description. This leaves no doubt that a bronze and silver version of these badges were produced and potentially awarded. How they fit into the scheme of things is, however, still a mystery.
