Thanks for your time and prompt post Don, nothing like having a name to put to a set of badges. At the moment I've only got these pictures - I'll have to wait to check out the numbers, but I've a feeling, I've misread the two you suggest checking out. The dealer lives in Memmingen which ties in with the name and town you give.

I just got this one in a large tinnie collection I bought. Obviously the gold has worn off...but the green wreath paint is still holding up strong.

Question, why does the 'Meister' level badge not have enamel on it?

        Cheers,
        Chrys

            Hey Pete,

I've seen this Kufstein piece with enamel though...at least the gold version. I just thought it was weird that the master level was without.

              Chys,

You will not have seen this one (1942) with enamel. It was the 1943 badge that was enamelled, the design was almost identical to this one. Post #49 on this thread shows one.
              Cheers
              Don

Got it Don...many thanks guys for the prompt help. I saw the badge in post 49 but I did not look close enough to see that it said 1943 and not 1942.

                Have a good weekend guys...

Picked up these badges last week - looked through the thread, don't see them being shown before. Left one large (5,5 cm dia.) K.K Gewehr 1941 fairly normal standard piece made by C.Poellath - Schrobenhausen. The right-hand badge 3,6 cm dia. W.H.W. sponsored shoot with proceeds going to victims, not sure exactly which victims, if anyone has any further information, please let me know. Reverse has the maker K.Pichl - Innsbruck. Also if a member has a picture of a stammkarte issued with the Gaumeisterzeichen in gold badges would they mind showing it - I've never seen one. Cheers

On the bottom of the right page you can see where the stamped would be placed for the required grade of badge. As you can see, this chap only qualified for the gold grade

Thanks Don for the picture - as I say its the first one I can remember seeing. Haven't come across any in the forums or being offered on military sites. Again thanks for showing. Cheers

Yes, I know this is a zombie thread, but hey, I'm not the first to bring it back from the dead

I agree these are addictive. Here's mine

Picked up this Tiroler Shooting Badge last week, not shown in the thread so far - also the biggest one to come into my hands at a whopping 6,2 cm diameter.

Yes these are indeed large & heavy pieces. Now you need to find it's partner, the Kleinkaliber Meisterklasse
