      25 Yr. Cross

Mine, also, has the flaw to the left wing and is a heavy version with unmarked ring. I have had this for years and have always felt it was an original.

        25-Yr NSDAP Crosses

        Ron,

All the major dealers agree that the heavy versions are indeed original but collectors prefer the thinner "19" (Deumer) marked pieces.

A collector has a heavy version 15-Yr with the left wing flaw which is mm'd but he can't read the number It is thought to be "30" for Hauptmünzamt Wien.

I know it's an old thread now but still a very valuable one. Here are a few shots of my 25 year cross acquired last weekend. it is '19' marked Deumer 3 piece award ...

            reverse ..

detail .. there looks to have been a failed punch mark also on the ring that missed and slipped off into the hole.

It came without a ribbon so it can't help on that subject.

congrats, that´s a nice one with little wear.

One of my most favourite awards, wonderful!

              Best Regards

Nice cross Ian. You just need to find an original ribbon now.

                    Hi everyone

Was lucky to grab this beautifull Wiedmann piece, notice the downsized ring which suggest that this was once part of an amazing medalbar.

Please PM me if you have an original 20 cm. long 25 mm wide ribbon for sale!

                    Cheers Thomas

                      Hi Thomas,

Great to see that Deumer even stamped "19" on the small rings which as you say, were almost definitely made for ribbon bars or mounts as shown in post #61

The best product to remove dirt and nicotine stains from enamel medals is 'SUDSY AMMONIA" NOTE THIS IS NOT REGULAR AMMONIA. It is available in all LARGE grocery stores normally and is a soap based ammonia and will not damage finished and enamels, but will clean and bring back the frosted metal finishes without removing any existing lacquer coating.

Did any more info come in on the "Stan" piece that started this thread which is the same as Ron's and my 25 year cross?

Thomas, I think you would need a 25 cm long piece of 30 mm wide ribbon for your 25 year cross according to the Organisationsbuch 1940.

Stan, Ron's 25 year cross in #61 is a large ring. I would doubt that the small (19) ring would fit on that ribbon bar hook. If some were intended for medal bars with special hooks, then the rest were most definitely for the ladies' version of the 25 year award which specified 50 cm of the 15 mm wide ribbon which would have fit easily in the smaller (19) marked Deumer ring. And the lighter production weight would have been easier to acomodate on the narrow ladies ribbon if worn around the neck or perhaps fashioned in a brooch style mount for a dress.

                                Hi Joe.

Yes, Ron's ring in Post #61 is the large size but I was actually referring to the small sized ring in Thomas's post #69.
